Dear young and old theatre spectators! Welcome to festival NAKS from November 5 - 9, 2024 in Tartu!
Festival NAKS 2024 will showcase the versatility of theatre for children and youngsters, breaking down artistic and thematic boundaries and engaging audiences in an honest way. It presents theatre in all its diversity: visual theatre, puppet theatre, spoken word, dance, music and contemporary circus. The programme is designed for audiences who generally have fewer theatrical experiences, such as infants or young people with special needs (i.e. hearing deficiencies and visually impaired, autism spectrum disorder).
The main programme of the festival includes eleven productions from the Estonian theatre scene and five from foreign countries. Original music and movement play an important role in the productions. In addition, there will be workshops, a conference on children's and youth culture, public readings of plays and discussions. There will be foreign guests and troupes from the Nordic and Baltic countries, Slovakia and Scotland.
Festival NAKS 2024 is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu
