Sand and water are natural materials which are very enjoyable for children to play with and experience different surfaces, structure and movement. In the performance the images of sand and water are figuratively constructed into imaginative play which invites toddlers together with a dancer to move and explore objects that resemble the qualities of sand and water. The performance creates an inspiring possibility for children without touching actual sand and water to develop their imagination and creativity through guided improvisation on movements of sand and water. The stage becomes a safe space for toddlers to experience the variety of movement, textures, sounds and objects, to discover new things about environment, to think, to create and enjoy.
